Does anyone know a place in Nassau that you can buy pergo floors AND that they will install them for you?
I want it done fast. I don't want my husband and his friends making a federal case out of it!!!
Thanks
Also, anyone hired a good painter lately?

Re: Pergo Floors
Home Depot sells and installs Pergo. They told me around $4-6 per square foot.

Re: Pergo Floors
DH and I bought and installed it ourselves. We found a great price online from www.diyflooring.com and got a store to match the price of the pergo. Maybe you can do that and then pay the installation fees.

Re: Pergo Floors
We got ours at Long Island Panneling on clearace for $1.37 a sq ft. when it cost $4.00 a sq ft. My DH and I just installed it yesterday throughout my living room, dining room and hall and it looks great! It was so easy to do and if you knew the layout of my house, we had A LOT of angle cuts and wierd cuts to do.

Re: Pergo Floors
We're also considering putting it in our basement. The flooring guy we had here said that 4.0 or 4.5 moisture level was the max that Pergo could handle. He had a little meter that was used to measure the moisture level. He said they run about $500 but someone told me you can rent one to check your levels.
I was just looking at the www.diyflooring.com page and they have a pretty clear and complete set of instructions on how to install Pergo. I think it was under the Pergo link. You need to be sure it's level and put down a moisture barrier.

Re: Pergo Floors
Yeah we put ours down over the slab we're on. You can watch the pergo installation videos online from the site and we felt them to be helpful before beginning the job. We did a moisture test, which was essentially duct taping a 3'x3' black heavy garbage bag to the subflooring and waiting 3 days. Then we checked to see if moisture was underneath. Since there wasn't we were good to go. Also, you install a moisture barrier with your underlayment or you can get a 2-in-one to put down (and save yourself a step). Then, install as usual. It wasn't a very difficult job to do. The one thing my cousin had to help us with was for a T-moulding we were putting down...we needed him to help us screw the track into the concrete but he did it without a problem.
