Persian Wedding Custom Question?
Does anybody know why the cocktail hour is held before the ceremony?
Does anybody know why the cocktail hour is held before the ceremony?
I believe it is. My friend is having a Persian/Jewish wedding... and she is having the cocktail hour before the ceremony. Unless that is a Jewish thing, but I don't think it is......
Does anybody know what the reasoning behind it is?
I don't know if this is Persian- but in Jewish tradition the bride adn groom don't see each other all week and during the cocktail hour the bride sits in a chair and all the men escort the groom in so the bride and groom see each other- for the first time.
