I definitely feel this way sometimes.... Not all of the time, but yes...........
And I'm usually right, unfortunately............
Although, most of my friends do not do this anymore bc I'm not friends with those people anymore!!! Live and LEARN!!!!!!!!
Sorry.......

Re: personal
Yes....
I'm always watching what I do around FH's family. They are so proper and uptight, and FH is always so concerned about appearances around them. My mom's family is the absolute opposite, and I'm dreading them meeting.

Re: personal
Mine do this on the regular. I told a joke and a year later I am still hearing about it. I really can't take it. If I try to watch my words, I end up offending more, so I chose to be myself and pi$$ everyone off along the way.
My in-laws loved me for the 5 years I was with FH, not that it is getting closer to the wedding, they are ripping apart everything I do and say. My in-laws can nit pick all they want. I give up!!!
It's frustrating, but there is nothing I can do.
GOOD LUCK WITH EVERYTHING!!!! POEPLE STINK!

Ok, well... I have PERMA-issues ... I made the mistake of showing my mother and g-ma the proofs b4 toms mom saw them, plus pulled the wedding pics from facebook (for privacy AND since I was making a CD of all the pics to put into the TY card ,,, check out what my MIL wrote (while wated drunk (FYI, G'ma is going blind, but she des not know that)
... I QUOTE ... 'So happy that Kelly & Tommy are enjoying their wedding proofs with Kelly's Grandma and Mom and Girls. Would have loved the opportunity to see the proofs, but unfortunately even the ones that were on facebook that my friends and family were so enjoying have been deleted. Glad though that life is good.'

My Mother who already been through both my sisters weddings and my brothers wedding tried to explain to me that when a son gets married its really hard on the Mother. She said when your daughter gets married, you are happy and excited for her, but when your son gets married, it feels like he is being stolen. Even with that little bit of crazy knowledge, I still think that my FMIL bi-polar fits are a bit too much for me lately. My fuse is getting shorter and shorter.

Re: personal
FMIL always has me under a microscope but I've realized that no one ever lives up to her standards, so why bother caring anymore.
Other people can just fcuk themselves; there are very few people in this world whose opinions matter to me and I can count them on one hand, minus one finger. That finger is saved to flip off everyone else.

Re: personal
In the last 6 months leading up to our wedding I must have posted some type of rant about FMIL a million times. She became crazier then I ever imagined. We will be married 3 weeks tomorrow & she is still a crazy lady. When we where in Hawaii, we would try to call our parents atleast once a day. Every time DH called his mom, she would give him some kind of sob story about how she can't deal with everything on her own, etc. She even told him that we are never alloweed to be that far away from her again. Give me a break. My family missed us too (especially my sister) & my family was dealing with actually problems while we where away, yet they where nice enough to not ruin our honeymoon with their complaining.
I used to keep my mouth shut about FMIL but now I tell DH how I feel. (P.S.: FMIL & I work in the same office so I see her 5 days a week) & with that said she even went as far as texting DH questions about work to ask me.

Re: personal
I watch what I do and say around DH's family sometimes. I definitely don't want anything coming back to haunt me; they make big deals about EVERYTHING. But I need to learn how to hide my emotions; DH tells me I make faces when I'm mad or annoyed at something, I never knew I did that. But I guess it doesn't bother MIL, if she still does things to annoy me.

Re: personal
I really only get this with FSIL...but I have learned not to care anymore. Everyone walks on eggshells for her, and that is not how we do it in my family. I don't care, so hopefully she gets over it.

Re: personal
I would say FMIL but she does that with everyone... even her own family... you never know if shes sober or drunk so she can either laugh it off or cause an argument...
