I feel like I'm the only one, but that can't be... I need suggestions on what I can do about my head/hair? I have really bad dandruff/dry skin, and I want to start doing something about it now since my wedding is 4 months away. Does anybody know of an over the counter item that works? has anybody used Neutrogena T-Gel shampoo? It's kind of embarrasing to ask, but I don't know what to do? I don't want this to be a problem at my wedding? Thanks!

Personal hair question... I need suggestions!!!
My Fiance has the same problem and has tried TGel and it did not work for him. The only thing that works for him is Nizoral. You can get it at any drug store or supermarket.
Hope this helps!

I had a REALLY bad case of dandruff, used herbel essence dandruff shampoo and it was almost all gone im 3 washes.. and if all else fails dye your hair blonde.. its harder to see dandruff in blonde hair ! LOL
I never had dandruff...but I do get dry scalp...itchy...I went to the dermatologist and she gave me some great stuff...
besides that...talk to the pharmacist in the drug store and ask their recommendation...they are usually pretty friendly and helpful...but the good stuff costs $$...

oh how nice to dish out personal dirt, but what the heck if it helps someone else! Anyway, it's your body, it's not like you CHOSE to have this problem!
I too have a dry scalp ( I don't like the word 'dandruff' :) ) and I started to use Head & Shoulders and it works. For some reason my scalp gets more dry in the winter, even with all the water I drink (I should be drowning really) so I had to start using something. Yeah, and I have brown hair and I don't notice a problem anymore.
Hope this helps!!! -a fellow dry scalper hahahaha

I think it is more of a dry scalp... It is very itchy. I can't afford to go to a dermatologist, can I get what you got over the counter??? Thanks!

You made me LOL! I have the same problem as you in the winter, and I also use Head & Shoulders 3x/week (I can't use it everyday cause it will kills my hair)...it works like a charm! Maybe it's the air in Long Beach?? hahaha :)
I don't flakes at all really...I only use a squirt or two every so often in the winter especially when it gets itchy...:)
what I have has the active ingredient clobetasol propionate
maybe you can find something with that in it...

If you cannot afford to go to a dermatologist, how about your regular doc?
Helpful hints:
Use warm water in the shower, not hot.
Do not leave your hair wet for a long time...dry it.
Never go to bed with wet hair.
Avoid getting haircare products on your scalp. Gel made my scalp flare up. I discontinued using gel, and it improved. Mousse works better for me, but also can irritate.
