Personal - Mammography/Sonogram..

Has anyone had a mammography and then a sonogram (ultrasound) done? (FM me if you wish).. I was just wondering how the results turned out. Afterwards, the tech told me that my mammogram looked fine but they had me do a sonogram. Afterwards, that tech told me that I would have to call my doc in 3 to 5 days to get the results and I asked her if she could tell me anything and she said that it's not too serious I've been sitting around and thinking about this in my head and I can't wait to get the results back because it's driving me crazy. I'm thinking it may be a cyst.. If that's the case... will they have to remove it?

I had a sonogram. It wasn't bad. They put cold slimmy goup on your tummy then look around with a wand. I would recomend bringing along wet wipes and/or a change of underwear/bra if you have to go out afterwards. It was a very easy test.

I'm sorry... I should've been more clear... it was a sonogram of the boobs... and I had the test already (Christmas Eve)..

I am having a sono for my right breast on Monday. Two weeks ago I felt a lump in my breast (which has since disappeared) but I am getting the sonogram anyway, better safe than sorry. You PROBABLY just have a cyst, try not to worry too much. Some cysts they leave there, others they 'aspirate' which is basically like draining it with a needle. Like I said, I really wouldn't worry too much, just wait and talk to your doctor.

I need to go for a breast sonogram as well at the end of January and I am freaking out.

My gyno found a lump in my breast at my last exam which she was concerned with. She said I have to go for the sonogram and then wait 2 WEEKS for the results at her office..I am so nervous!

I was a little skeptical though as to why she didnt send me for a mammogram first though..I dont know whether that should make me worry more or less??

nycchic - can't you get an earlier appt to get it over with? Same thing happened with me and my doc telling me this on Monday night... by Wednesday I had both tests done because I just wanted to get it over with. I don't know why they sent me for both tests though..
