I was just wondering if anyone has actually tried the method of skipping your period by using birth control? I know everyone says to do it but I don't know anyone who actually has. How did you do it? Thanks in advance

Re: Personal Question...
I have done it plenty of times.
ETA that I just completly skipped the green pills (the last row, i was on a 28 day pill cycle) and then just started a new pack.

I just did it this month...to move things around a little....and everything is fine. I talked to my doctor first about it.

Re: Personal Question...
You should speak to your Dr. first, I think it is something with skipping pills, I remember speaking to my Dr. about it years ago, I think it is safe.

Thanks everyone!! I counted ahead and I am supposed to get 'it' the day after the wedding. I guess I should start now. Thanks again!

Re: Personal Question...
I've done it on several separate occasions....mostly for vacations or holidays...tried to do it for a surgery, but due to the trauma and shock of the surgery...my body reacted anyway...
but I'm doing it right now, a month early because if I was on schedule, I'd be PMSing a few days before the wedding...DO NOT NEED THAT!! and then I have to skip March also cuz I would get it smack in the middle of the HM...
HOW TO: the week you take the fake pills....you start the active ones instead...thus not giving your body the chance to go thru the cycle

Re: Personal Question...
Ok...I was planning to stop taking the pill at the end of this month...so that we could TTC right away. But...then maybe I might get AF right before or after the big day...depending on how long it will take my body to get back to normal. Hmmmm....any thoughts?

Just did this in January...everything went (and is) fine. I called my Dr. first just to confirm that I could do that on the BC I take. If you're on tri-phasic, I don't believe you can do this...could be wrong.

Same here. As for the tripahsic pills my doc told me it may work or may not work (meaning you might spot) it depends on your body. So I told her to switch me back to the monophasic pill since I'm supposed to get my period the week of the honeymoon

The first time I skipped yes it felt like I had my period (cramps, body aches, etc). But everytime after that I felt fine.

I had this problem I stopped taking them 3 months before the wedding and was supposed to get my period right in the middle of the honeymoon. I took care of the problem by getting pregnant So instead of AF we figured out I was preggo

Re: Personal Question...
Is AF regular without the pill?
Then try to figure out the best time to go off that won't interfere.
OR
Wait and go off after the wedding and try after being married for a couple of months.
Try asking you OBGYN and see if they have any tricks
