How many of you have an Ex-Boyfriend who you'll never get over??? I don't mean you wish you were marrying him or anything just someone who you'll always think about. I have one, but it's not like I'd want to be with him ( it would NEVER work out) but I will always wonder about him and miss him. Is it just me am I terrible??

No, you are not the only one. I also do that, I think of him and wonder how his life is.

Re: Personal Question??
I was with my ex before DH for 5 years. I do think about him--not a missing type of thinking, but I wish him well. He was a great guy, we just weren't meant to be. It's weird, he will probably be at my 5 year college reunion in June, which I am going to but my DH is not. My DH asked if it would be weird to see him...I don't think it will, though I haven't seen him in 5 years. It's just like a friendship. If I felt like he was the one that got away, that would be different, but I don't regret us breaking up at all.

Re: Personal Question??
There are two particular exs who I am still good friends with...it would never have worked out with either of them, but they still hold special places in my heart. I think it's natural to think about that stuff every now and then. I definitely don't think you're terrible!

Re: Personal Question??
All of my exes hold a special palce in my heart, and tug at my heart strings in their own ways. Of course I don't want to be with them, but one ex, when I found out his gf was pregnant and he was getting married, I really freaked out (this was a few years ago..before I was engaged, etc)... it was so weird, and there was a weird finality to it, not that I'd EVER want to be with him. And I have another ex I'm friends with, and although I know he's totally wrong for me, he's a great guy, we're friends, and like certain gestures and stuff he makes, it sets my heart aflutter, because it really reminds me of when I was totally in love with him. I mean certain things about a person you just never get out of your head. We were 15 when we dated, so it's just brinigng me back to that puppy love. It's totally normal....either that or we're all wackos and I'm the worst!
Anyway, I truly believe when you really love someone you never stop. OF course the love changes, but I think it's always there in some form (even if the transformation is into hate..haha)

Re: Personal Question??
There was one person and I thought I'd always be wistful over 'what could have been.'
The perspective that time gave me was amazing and it made me wonder why I was so hung up on this guy (truth is, I though he was hot and had a great bod ).
There is NO comparison to DH. In fact, I will always remember the moment I realized it too- it was very early in our courtship and he was in the shower at his place, and in my wanderings I noticed that DH had a post-it note on his dresser with my FULL name (even my middle name!) my home #, my cell # and my e-mail addy.
Meanwhile, Guy I Wasted Time With had to be given my # about three times.
So, in a nutshell, I don't have someone like that but I did worry that I would.

Re: Personal Question??
You are definitely not alone on this one... I just receieved an email today from my ex. He was my first 'real' bf. We dated for sixmonths and then about two years later we almost rekindled the relationship, however, it just never happened.
Anyways he got married the next year to some chick he barely knew at the time, which deep down hurt me a lot. Anyways I met FH and I knew pretty soon that he was the one for me, total opposite of the ex.
I think of the ex from time to time, we correspond with each other via email and keep each other up to date on whats going on with our lives. He does have a bad habit of popping up at the most inconvenient times. we havent seen/talked to each ohter in three years now, besides through email, and he just happens to call my cell phone while I am at FIL's house celebrating New Years and our engagement. hmm really strange.

Re: Personal Question??
You're not alone at all. There are two exes with whom I had really intense and strange relationships. It would never have worked out with either of them, but I do wonder how they are doing. (I don't hear from either of them very often.) In fact, I recently shredded some very old e-mails of theirs that I'd printed out. Reading those e-mails once more before getting rid of them reminded me just how nuts these relationships were. I just felt more love and appreciation for DH when I looked back.

Re: Personal Question??
i have one from hs that i also dated in college..after we dated we became good friends but drifted off after he finished West Point and was shipped to Korea. I actually spoke to him via e-mail several months ago and he is married living in Ca..I still think abut him and miss him- even though I know we could never be together. He was my hs sweetheart as well as college..
