i am on ortho tri-cyclen.. i missed a pill in week 2 a few days ago, so i took 2 pills at the same time when i realized. now, a day or two has passed and I'm having some very light period-like thing happening, but not anywhere near a full-blown period. I'm on like day 15 or so of pills.
i have never had spotting before, does it sound like that's what this is?.. and if so, is this normal based on what i said about skipping a pill?

I am not sure, I would definatly call your doctor to check but just becareful .

That never happened to me on OTC, but on other pills. Sometimes I lasted just a day or so, others thru my next period, and that was just if I took it 2 hours before/after my usual time. I would tell the doc, just so they could record it, also ask the doc if you need to use a backup method for the rest of your cycyle. I just thought of it as punishment for forgetting. a lesson only need to be taught once!!!!

Lori I'm on OTC also and once I forgot 1 pill and took it when I remembered (the next day) and then 2 days later I did it again and I started spotting also (for a few days), it then went into a regular period. Couldn't hurt to call dr. though...seems normal.

It sounds normal. I am not on the pill anymore, I just went back on the patch, but that used to happen to me all of the time. That's why I am on the patch, three patches verus 28 pills.... Easier to remember.
It's VERY normal...you can spot on the pill even if you don't mess up...but it is more likely to happen if you do.
If you read the little paper that comes with the pill pack it tells you all of what can happen, why, when, etc...
I wouldn't worry! I am the QUEEN of screwing up with my pills and it happens to me all the time!!!

It happened to me with ortho tricyclen a few times when I took two pills at once. Doctor said it's because ortho has a high hormone level or something like that.
