I used them for my eparty. I had pillow box holders for them and ordered about 4 personalized 7oz bags and then got 3lbs of regular m&ms from the store in times square to mix and stretch the amount a little bit. Somewhat pricey but I wanted them BAD...plus one of my BMs works for m&m and she got me her discount!!!
eta: sorry forgot to say that that amount made approx. 50 favors, that's with NO extras at all, perfect amount. So if you expect more people I guess you can multipy the amount accordingly.
I am pretty sure that the standard size bag of M&Ms is like 11 oz. So you could try a bag of regular to see what the outcome is then order the special ones. I am thinking of those too. Good Luck!!!
If so, how many come in a bag? It states a 7oz bg, but I am clueless.

I bought them for our wedding. We bought clear plastic boxes to put them in. I ordered a sample of the boxes first and regular MnM's to see how much they hold. The boxes we used held about 2 oz of MnM's. I think it was like 70 MnM's.
But I definitely recommend doing a trial first with regular ones.
