Re: Pet sitter For wedding night!
I have a dog (golden retriever) and a cat and I was worried about the same thing! A friend of mine works for a vet and recommended long island pet and home sitters... she said that they are very reasonable in price (they can either come to your home multiple times or you can have your dog stay at one of their staff member's home) and that they are a great agency. They have a website if you want to check them out. HTH!

My cousin is a dog groomer and does home boarding but she's all the way in Long Beach so its out of the way for most people. But many dog groomers do that if you have one near you....but I think a lot board at the actual store.

My parents have two dogs who they had to make arrangements for. I told them I didn't want them to board the dogs at the Vet b/c I wanted to take pictures with them before I left for the church. They've decided to ask a neighbor to walk them a few times that night and the next day.

We did this too for my e-party. We felt bad leaving him and since he was on insulin we had to have someone come and give him a shot before we got home. We had my neighbors grandson come over for a few hour.

The groomer we go o is super sweet with very kind staff, we asked one of the girls who works there to watch our boys for the evening. She loves them, and they are always happy to see her so I think its a good fit.

We board our golden at the Willow Pet Hotel in Deer Park- so that is where he will be staying for the wedding night and probably the night before. He LOVES it!
ETA: For anyone who hasn't boarded their animal before, I would try it for a night sometime before the wedding.... we never boarded our old dog and at some point, when she was like 12, we had no choice but to board her and she was soooooo sick (& sorta depressed actually) for like a week after we picked her up!
HTH!

FMIL's dog was the same way One of my dogs will be FINE since he's so social but our pom is sooo attached to us, especially FH and gets such separation anxiety.
They are both young, less than 2 and 4 years old but they've only stayed with FIL's before but they are going to portugal

Willow is no good ! Try not to put your pet there! I know someone that used to work there and she does not have good stories about it!!!

Re: Pet sitter For wedding night!
my brother does this for a family--- and i am sure would love to do it for anyone else------ bc he loves pets! he is located in NYC though (large 3 bedroom). if you want his info i would be more than happy to provide it (and he has refrences if needed). I SOOOOO would do this if my apt allowed me to have pets :(
