Petal cones

OK, I know this has been asked a ZILLION times, but what's the easiest way to make a petal cone? I'm not going to bother printing on it. If I got 12'x12' paper, and cut it into a circle using a template I've drawn, I can just fold it into quarters, pop out one fold, and tape it open with double-sided tape, yes?

Do you guys think vellum would work? I saw pretty colored vellum on paperandmore.com in a 12'x12' size.

You can get 4 cones out of one 12x12 piece of paper if you cut it into four equal squares instead of one circle. the only real difference is that the petal cone has a point on the top instead of being rounded off.
