Petal Cones? How do I make them?

How do I make a petal cone? Is it as simple as cutting a piece of paper to a conish shape and rolling it up and taping the sides together?

Also, how many do you make?

(I am taking this weekend to do all the DIY projects I should have been doing the last year)

how do you really know how many people will be at the church though?

I haven't done them yet but there is an easy way to make them with a doily (sp?). You just rolled the doily and then and tape it together with a nice sticker.

I am getting married at my RH and am going to only make around 50 of them for the aisle seats.

I'm not getting married at a church

I'm sure one of the other brides can help....

I got 8' round dollies (sp?) and wrapped them to make a cone shape. I might put a sticker or something on them, but just used my cool glue gun (which is still hot when you get it on your fingers ) and I put 2 dots of glue to hold it together.

I made 50 but might make 25 more. I am having about 160-180 at my reception, figure 1/2 that at the church, and then only 1/2 that will take cones (mostly the women) I am going to have them toss the petals as we exit the church.
