Petal Toss ?

OK, I have my cones made now I need the petals. What is better? Silk or freeze dried? What color pink or white? and if I get real flowers how long do they live for? Will I have to get them that day?

I think it all depends on what you want. Your florist can bring the live petals when he/she delivers your flowers. I would do pink instead of white so it could show up in your pics. Of course w/digital enhancing, they could make them look any color you want. It's all personal preference.

I like pink better if you can get it.

Most florists will give you the petals for free on the morning they deliver the flowers. Then you can just have someone put a few in the cones that morning.

If the floriust brings them they will be live (right?) SO can they stain my dress?? I am a magnet for stains!

My florist is bring me petals the day of the wedding and I will have my mom put them in the cones for me, when I am getting my pictures before the ceremony.

Every flosrist that I have spoke to has said that the only ones that will stain is red and you have to rub them on your dress to have them stain. I would think Pink would be fine, but if you are worried about staining then go with white.

also feel pink is great color and have them brought to you live the day of your wedding.

I used red petals as well as having a very red bouquet and did not stain my dress at all. The florist told me to make sure I dont press up against my bouquet too much but the petals werent even an issue.

I would go with the pink, especially if you do fresh petals. The white tend to bruise and turn brown very easily. Or you could mix them and have pink and white. That would look beautiful as well. The only way that they will stain is if some one mushes them onto your dress. And I hope your family and friends wouldnt do that to you! Good Luck!

silk or fresh doesn't matter. I would definitely suggest using a colored petal it will show up really nice in your photos.

for my cousin's wedding, we picked them up before the rehearsal dinner and filled them afterward. They were fine the next afternoon. She had multi-colors (except red) and they were fine (no stains). I vote for pink.

I hadn't really thought about color (maybe pink), but my florist is allowing me to drop off the cones in advance and they will fill them and deliver them with my flowers. You may want to ask your florist if they can do that.

I had all mixed petals, my florist said she would bring whatever she had left over in the shop! They looked very pretty in the pics, red, yellow, pink. She just put them all in a big basket and one of my BMs walked around with it and people took a handful!

I definitely would get real ones. I think pink would be beautiful. Especially, like jar823 said, the white ones tend to to bruise & get brown. A mix is a good idea too. Good thing I'm not allowed to throw petals, I'd have a hard time deciding
