Does anybody have information on phase 2 of the South Beach Diet? My Dr. said I could start on it (as a nursing mom I shouldn't do Phase 1), and I just haven't gotten out to get the book. I have the idea from the net what I can have and can't have. But, I can't find info on what I can have for dinner - are all meats okay? I understand to limit pasta and carbs, etc., but are all fish and meat allowed?

Re: Phase 2 of the SBD
Oh Phase 2 they want you to eat lean meats (white meat chicken, fish and some pork) eat red meat and dark meat chicken sparingly. They still want you to stay way from sugar and white carbs (white rice, pasta and white potatoes) but you can add 1 serving of sweet potato, kashi, or brown rice per day and 1 or 2 servings of fruit per day- this you have to monitor as how many of these good carbs you can eat while still losing varies per person. The general rule is to stick high fiber and low fat (although healthy fat is OK- those found in nuts, salmon, olive oil etc).
