PHEW - Thank you, Google!

I was so worried that we would need a birth certificate to get a marriage license in NYC - but turns out, it's not requiered. I'm soooooooo relieved because neither FH nor I have one. I consider this a checkity check on my side, hah.

Here's the list of what can be brought in:

* Driver License with photograph (from the United States of America or any of its territories)
* Non-Driver Identification Card with photograph (from the United States of America or any of its territories)
* Learner Permit with photograph (from the United States of America or any of its territories)
* Active United States Military Identification Card
* Passport
* United States Certificate of Naturalization (good for 10 years after date of issue)
* United States Alien Registration Card
* United States Employment Authorization Card

Are you sure? I found this:

Proof of Age and Identity
A person is required to establish proof of age and identity by submitting to the issuing clerk one of the following age related documents:

Birth Certificate
Baptismal record
Naturalization record
Census record
And one of the following identity related documents:

Driver's license
Passport
Employment picture ID
Immigration record

GOt the info from:

I dont want to be a debbiedowner but it would be better to know now!

The one I found above is just specific to getting the license in New York City. I think for the rest of the state, birth certificates are requiered.
