Philip Stone Caterers/Village Club at Lake Sucess/Carltun/Carlyle

Hi 08 Brides,
I wanted to check in with all of you to see if any of you are getting married at the Village Club at Lake Success or are using Philip Stone Caterers last year?

I went to visit the venue today and I liked it alot but I wanted to see if any of you could share your experiences!

The Carltun and Carlyle on the Green round out my top three choices. Any feedback on those would be great too :)

Thanks so much!

Went to FH's cousin's wedding at the Carltun in December. WOW! What a beautiful place. Food was very good. The service was incredible. The wait staff really hustled big time. Trays were going around non stop during cocktail hour. They were right on top of drink orders all night. Very good staff.

Also went to a wedding a few years ago at Carlyle on the Green. I was very impressed with the location. I don't remember the food too much, but I remember thinking the place was just gorgeous and must have cost a fortune.

my cousin got married at the carltun. beautiful place, esp the outdoor ceremony. wow. the cocktail hour was half inside and half outside, which i didnt like only bc i didnt even realize there was stuff inside. we had a big wedding so the cocktail hour was a bit slow due to each server opening the cover, then closing...then re-opening and closing for the next person. i guess this is standard but it would have went way faster if they kept the lids open, since the line was starting to curve around the building. anyway, we had a great time, it was beautiful and the food was really good!

Just an FYI about the village club, I was going to book there, but when I went back with my parents they took us right into the other brides cocktail hour without checking with the bride first, the bride was really upset, and we were in jeans and totally embarassed. That was the deciding factor for me, I would not want anyone walking through my cocktail hour on a tour, so I did not book there.

Thank you all so much!! I have heard nothing but great reviews about both the Carltun and Carlyle. Thank you for reinforcing what I have heard!! Now on to the hard part of paying for them..I was quoted $150 and $135 for a Saturday or Sunday afternppn

With the VCLS, I had done a search on here and found a few positive and and few negative comments. I am hoping that the other brides get back to me about what they heard ;)

Oh decisions :) decisions!
