I received a phone call from Bridal Suite of Patchogue... (good thing I check my home machine since I'm 1500 miles away for another 4 weeks)... They told me that 'I HAVE TO PICK UP MY DRESS'... and I can't leave it there until I do my alterations.
The woman on the phone said they can't store anything since they are 'doing work in their storage area'....
Hmmmm......
I just called my mom who lives a few towns over and she is calling to see when they are open and when she can go get it.
Did anyone else get this phone call??????

I got a letter instead..........and you know what, no arguing here, I couldnt run and get in the car fast enough to pick it up.
Basically, the letter said the same thing your message was, and that the 'storage' conditions were unsafe to store the dress, which is BS b/c white will not turn color that fast but thats OK.
Its a HUGE releif to know its safe by me!!!
ETA: Oh, and if possible, please try to find someone else to do your alterations.....having them do it will be a headache as I do know two of their seamstresses (I was told) are going to Italy for 2 months....

I got the same phone call.. So I ran and got my dress. I have no idea where I'm going to do my alterations now. I have to figure that one out.

Sorry to hijack your board but Phyllis a t gownfind.com can do alterations. Highly recommend her! She works out of Northport!! A lot of girls are using her!

I feel so much better now. My mom went down there today and picked up my gown. I am relieved that it is now in our hands and I don't have to deal with them anymore.
Now I am going to need someone who does alterations in western suffolk county, preferably south shore.
