Phone interview... ACK! gonna vomit

I've never had one of these... I hate talking on the phone. I'm gonna blow it.
Anyone do phone interviews? Any tips?

I love phone interviews! You can be in your pajamas. It's just hard because you can't see their reaction to what you are saying. Keep notes handy, and prepare some questions for them. Good luck!

Agreed ... I had one since I've been out of work and I'm pretty sure I came off as a complete moron ... 'Ummmm' blah blah!!

I overheard someone doing one at Michaels yesterday. The guy was repeating everything the applicant was saying and interrupting when he was telling whoever he was with to hurry up! (It was quite annoying when I was trying to concentrate on selecting ribbons)!

AH, I have it at 2:30 today. It's mainly to see what kind of skills and experience i have to see where I'd be best suited. I think it's a consulting and tech staffing firm. So nervous!

You know, I remember vaguely having one for grad school, but I can't remember any of the details. I think it went okay. Probably your biggest concern is awkward silence. But, since the person on the other end is conducting the conversation, the ball is in his/her court for keeping things flowing.

I have a hard time explaining exactly what I do. I know what I do and can do it, I just can't explain it for people to understand. lol Dur! I'm not good at using the correct techie phrases.

OH you suck!!! Wanna come with me to see him on the 17th at the Knitting Factory? LOL DH won't be around to take me. And it's funny, he's going to be in Alexandria (where DH will be) the next day. Too bad I'm not living there already.

I had a lot of Umm's because of wendy! LOL kidding. but I was very ummy. I hate that. I'm just not good at describing my job. I need to practice that. But they said Homeland security is ready to hire a lot and they said he'll look for something to match my skills. Whether he's blowing smoke up my butt or not, we'll soon see. But I want a government job so bad!!!! I want to get into system security eventually.

I did tell him we just had to reboot the system (which was true) so forgive me if I seem a bit distracted.

That's exactly why I ummmmmed a lot, I mean, I know what I did ... I sat around and did it for TEN YEARS and I was just so off guard trying to explain it!!

I'm gonna try and beg a couple of my friends to go. One of them is into different music like Citizen Cope and Keb Mo, so I'll tell him he HAS to check out Bob Schneider. I'll go by myself if I have to.

I have no idea who Bob Schneider is but I wanted to say I've been to many a concert BY MYSELF and almsot always had a blast!!!

It's in the city though, lower manhattan or in the village or something, so I'm too chicken to go by myself.
