Photgrapher/Videographer?

Photgrapher/Videographer?

I just checked out 2 companies today and I was very happy with both, but I was just wondering about what the average cost is for a photographer & videographer. One quoted me $4495 & the other was $4980. Here is what I am getting:

1 - bridal album (36 or 48 pages)
2 - parents albums (18 or 24 pages)
1 - 11x18 photo
2 - 8x10 photo's
100 - thank you's
all proofs (1 place was giving me the negatives as well)
engagement photo's

and both were doing the video (1 place was giving me 3 copies of the DVD).

Is this expensive? What is everyone else paying? What are you girls getting?

FYI. Legally, they owe you the negatives. They are not doing you a favor on this one. Make sure you get them with whoever you choose.

they should be able to throw in a 20x24 or something, too (my place is). Play one against the other. Someone here once said that the time to get them to 'give' you stuff is before you sign. I wish I knew that beforehand... I probably could have gotten a few more pictures out of my guys. Actually, my place also is giving me my bridal party
pictures (one 5x7 for each member of my bridal party... same picture for all of them, so group shot)

I paid more for a certain photographer I wanted, but before that extra charge, I was paying 3200 for photo (Patken) and $1495 for Video (T&T Video - 3 DVD's, 2 special 'alternate' openings, unlimited effects, honeymoon pics, my parents' house before church, unedited footage on dvd, etc.). (just to give you a comparison)

Hope this Helps!

Good luck!

Looks good!

You can also ask them to include all pictures on a CD (this way you can post it online/send it to friends, w/o scanning them). They should be able to do this for you w/o charging extra.

Re: Photgrapher/Videographer?

Seems pretty fair for photo/video but a couple of questions...

- When you say pages in your album do you mean actual photos or number of pages?
-Can you get bridal party photos included? I'm getting one 5x7 for each member
-photos on cd - is it available?
-i would definitely request the negatives!

HTH...i visited quite a few photographers so FM if you need help. Would love to know who you are looking at too!

Thanks!

Sounds good to me, very similar to the price I paid for almost the same exact package!

That sounds like an amazing price to me....I'm using Franklin Sq Photog and am paying quite a bit more than that. It hurts sometimes when I think what I am spending on photo/video...ouch!
