I once heard of someone not getting their albums through their photographer, but buying the rights to the photos to make their own albums. Has anyone else ever heard of this? Is it really a way to save money?

i just made sure to book a photographer that already gives me rights to my photos ... i then made my own album on picaboo. cost about $150 for a 33 page book (lay flat pages but not the super-thick ones) plus i had coupon so it was a bit less.
i am happy i did it taht way but it really did take a lot of work to design the album.
oh, and for parent & grandparent albums, i made plain books with 1 photo per page & a leather cover ... they cost $20 each after coupon.
