Ok so i booked my photographer and he highly suggests get our formal pics done at Old Westbury Gardens... ok I love the idea... but here is the problem....
Wedding mass is at 4pm in Floral Park.... done at the church probably 5:15/5:20 give or take
then go to Westbury do pics....get there maybe around 5:40/5:45
our cocktail hr starts at 7:30 at Larkfield Manor.....
I feel we will be rusing like crazy to get there on time....
Should I see if Larkfield will move times?? Is 8pm too late to start a cocktail hr??
I dunno what to do... any suggestions???

Re: Photo Dilema
your photographer can give you suggestions just to help you with the process but honestly they cant tell you what you have to do. Its your wedding and you take pics wherever you want. What if that wasn't your style, what if you didn't want garden pictures ya know. If you really don't want to just say thank you so much for your suggestion but i think we're going to go somewhere else

Re: Photo Dilema
It looks like you'll have a solid 1-1/2 hours for photos. I haven't taken my wedding photos yet but I think that's enough time. Is it okay for you to arrive late at the cocktail hour? I know a lot of ppl are not even going to the CH. Keep in mind that you can also take indoor pictures at Larkfield Manor. I've been there and their courtyard is beautiful. HTH

Re: Photo Dilema
Also, if you haven't print your invitations yet I would call Larkfield Manor to see if you can start the cocktail hour later.

Re: Photo Dilema
My photographer recommended 45 minutes for pictures before the wedding. Discuss with your photog if it's going to be enough time--they've done it before and should know if the time is reasonable.

Re: Photo Dilema
My FH and I were in the same dilemma. We decided to up the time for the ceremony. Can you change the time to 2pm or 3pm? It would give you plenty of time (and also leeway time) to take pics and also enjoy your CH. Only problem is the gap in time leaves little for your guests to do. FH says it is our day, so we should do what works best for us...

Re: Photo Dilema
I would see if you can bump your ceremony up to 3 andif not then check your time for yoru CH to start at 8.
You only get 1 1/2 hours at OWG, and they start at the top of the hour and every 30 minutes, so withyour timeline you couldnt start taking your pics at OWG until 6 and your time slot would end at 730. You would need too much more time if you really want to do your pics at OWG. Also, we did alot of our formals at the RH and some at OWG, mostly OWG we used for just us.
