Photo Dilema

Photo Dilema

So, my cousin got married a few months ago and I LOVED her photographer. He was so great in person.

This weekend I saw her proofs and now I'm very concerned. I don't really like the lighting on a lot of things, the angles are not my style, and she is upset because she thinks the photog missed a few key moments, like the dip in their first dance.

My sister used the same photog studio for her wedding in 2009, and I LOVED her pics, but I thought her photog's personality wasn't really someone FH would respond to.

So now I have a huge dilema and I'm not sure how to approach this with them. I'm thinking of setting up a meeting with them with both proof books to show what I am looking for.

Any other suggestions? I was so excited to book this photog and I almost had a panic attack with FH at my cousin's house.

Personally, I could not care less about personality. As long as my photogs weren't complete azzhats, that was fine by me. I cared more about the final product than making friends. Fortunately, my photogs DID have great personalities and so they were extra easy to work with. BIL/SIL's photographers didn't have the greatest personalities, but the photos came out beautifully and it was more than fine.

ITA with this

final product is all that matters but you dont want someone really pushy or annoying either

You have to like the style of the pictures your photographer is going to take. You will have them forever. To some degree, you also have to like your photographer & feel comfortable enough around them to tell them exactly what shots you want or if you’re feeling uncomfortable, etc. I LOVED my photog. He owns his own company and did great work and DH & I clicked with him right away. Let me know if you want his information.

At this point, I don't want to book with a different company. But I am thinking about changing the photog.

I know that if FH wasn't comfortable with our photog, he wouldn't look right in the photos. So picking someone FH would respond to was big for us.

I think I'm just going to have to call them and let them know my concerns.
