Photo journalism
I was wondering if anyone on this board is using a photojournalistic photographer for their wedding. I am very interested in using one for my wedding, I like the idea of action, emotional shots better than constant posed pictures. If anyone has any recommendations of photographers on Long Island that they have heard or experienced first hand to be experiences in photojournalism can you give me their names please, Thanks!!!

Re: Photo journalism
my photographer, lia from imagine studios, does mainly photojournalistic shots (unless you ask her otherwise). if you're interested in a creative photojournalistic photographer, i would really check her out. the photos on the website are limited, but the ones in her studio are absolutely amazing. there are also several brides that have used her on the board so you can see people's proofs if you do a search.

Re: Photo journalism
Antony from Perceptions is Amazing!!! he's pricey, but if itsin the budget (he's not in ours
),,, but he's really got an amazing eye, and seems worth every penny.A bunch of girls on here have also used B rett M atthews, and their pictures are beautiful as well, but there has been some negative feedback on him... so you should do a search on him to find out more

Re: Photo journalism
We're using Anthony Vazquez from Perceptions--we both thought his work was so fantastic. Also, in case your parents give you a hard time about only having photojournalism, Perceptions offers a 2nd 'traditional' photographer as well who gives you about 300 proofs. Here's the website: Perceptions

Re: Photo journalism
We are having three photographers and they are predominantly in that style-- we like the idea of capturing the flow of the wedding as it happens. We do plan an hour of posed family shots but otherwise was to take shots as things happen.

I'm using SilverFox in Mineola. I've heard nothing but wonderful things about them. I'm very excited!

Re: Photo journalism
Duet will give you two photographers- one who does primarily photojournalistic work. Even their posed pics don't have that posed look to them. I absolutely love the work of the two photographers I selected for the day. And you can't beat the price!

I second that. I am using them too and saw the work of their photojournalist and it was really nice.

Re: Photo journalism
I was a little upset when I called Imagine studios and they told me they wouldn't do my wedding. They said they will ony do a wedding if both photography and videography is booked.I previously booked videography with my DJ so they wouldn't book me.
