Any suggestions on a place to take some photos between Manhasset and Woodbury? Prefer NOT to pay a fee, just becasue the weather is so iffy in October and I would rather not pay a fee if feasible! Any suggestions??

Actually September & October have the most clear days out of any other months of the year, so you have a pretty good chance of having great weather for pics. I know you prefer no fee, but Planting fields is stunning and its in Oyster Bay. The fee is 100, but it reasonable compared to alot of other picture fees. I would have loved to take pictures there, but it was kind of out of the way.
