i'm toying with the idea of maybe having a photo montage at the reception because i think it will be cute... my mom doesnt like it at all and thinks i'm being silly... opinions?

I'm def. doing this!!!!! I loved it at every wedding that I ever went to and I def. want it at mine...I just think that it's so sweet to see your lives play out together in pics. It always makes people cry too, especially the baby pics!!!!
she doesnt really think it goes well with a wedding, she thinks it would be better for a christening or something... i dunno, i'm not saying that i definitely wanna do it, i have to see prices and stuff but i was just thinking that it might be a cute idea... fh and i were at a wedding last month and they had it and it was just really fun to watch... so we'll see
I think it's cute... but in my personal opinion, I prefer it more in the background. We're going to have it constantly streaming throughout the CH; everyone will be able to see it. I don't want to stop the dancing & such to look at it.
Now don't get mad at me girls, but I don't like the idea. I kind of agree with your mom. I mean its always cute seeing baby pictures and pictures of the couple throughout the years, but I just don't like it at a wedding reception. - jmo
We are doing one also I love the idea. We are doing it during dinner so we don't have to stop the dancing!!
we are not doing one. FH doesn't like the idea, he thinks its sweet 16ish. however, to compromise we are going to set up some of our favorite pictures of us over the years and have them set up during the CH for people to look at.
im not a huge fan of this either.. sorry girls. JMO...Although i have to say i went to my friends wedding out of state.. and the way they did theirs was sooo adorable and left me a little teary i must say.. but i think it gets a little played out. .. maybe better for the rehearsal dinner. :)
I've been to a lot of weddings where they had this during dinner, and one where they completely stopped the dancing, had everyone sit down, they dimmed the lights, and it was like 30 minutes long. I would never do the second option, but FH and I really enjoyed the dinner ones. We're not doing it just b/c we didn't want to spend the money, but there is no denying that it is very nice! The families especially who watched you grow up tend to really enjoy it. I personally don't think it takes away from anything, the evening is about the two of you, why not should some pics of growing up, and then your lives together? It's nice!
