My wedding is scheduled for next year and I know I have plenty of time to decide but, it's just something that's been bothering me.
My wedding day at Westbury Manor is scheduled at the same time as the Scottish Festivals at Westbury Gardens leaving me with no option to take my photos there.
Is it really necessary, does it make that much of a difference to have pictures taken at a 'open space' as one of the photographers I met with recommended? Or is there enough places to take my photos without going somewhere at the Westbury Manor?
Please help!

The gardens in WM are gorgeous that is where I am taking mine. It is open and I dont' know why you wouldn't want to take them there. That is what sold me on the place!!

WM has beautiful grounds, you'll be able to get plenty of pics there.
ETA: I had a winter wedding, and we still got a few great pics outside. You'll have plenty of photo ops in the summer.

That's how I feel also but...for some reason...some photographer was like- 'you need the openess and the grandeur of a big area' like westbury mansion or planting fields...
I didn't feel that way before, am I just being paranoid or is he right?
that photgrapher is nutz! lol the usual selling point of the WM..besides the actual manor (which was what i wanted for my winter wedding) is the garden! Thats why there is such a price difference in the summer! Its gorgeous and there is plenty of space for pics....dont go anywhere else....so not necessary!

Didn't get married at WM but we took all of our pictures on-site at our hall -- no big open fields or anything. Sure those pictures can be beautiful but our pictures came out great too! You dont need to go to an outside site, especially if your hall has beautiful grounds like WM

I been to a wedding at the WM and the grounds are pretty big and beautiful. Take your pics there if you dont find anywhere else. Tell your photographer what you want to do and where YOU want to take your pictures

There's planting fields arboretum and there also an arboretum at C.W. Post.

I love the grounds at Westbury- before meeting with this photographer I thought I was very fortunate to be having a summer wedding at a place that had such gorgeous grounds with sooo many photo ops.
I haven't settled on a photographer and most likely won't use him because he was very bossy. I just feel very uneasy now about my decision whereas before my meet with him I was confident about my plans for pictures.
