ok... heres the deal... we got married june 2005 in NJ.. i didn't ask the right question of my photographer before i booked, and although i'm really happy with the pictures... i didn't like the way he gave us our proofs. it was a DVD slide show that just plays at its own pace so you have to sit through it all... and a printed ' book' , but the pictures in it are really small. so,... since its been a year since the wedding, i e-mailed him to see about getting a regular CD of the images. he writes back and says it would be $200 for the images on CD- not printable quality ( but good just to view on comp), OR $500 for CD with the full size, printable images... so, my question is... what would you get??? i already got the reprints i wanted through him so i don't think i need the printable files, BUT at the same time i would hate not to be able to print in the future if i wanted to.... any opinion/advice??? thanks!

I would spend the $500 and get the printable version-only b/c you may want them later on and it would be worth it to have them.

Re: photo question...
if you just want to print those pictures to the same size as what you have, you don't need the original...
you can jus scan what you have and make reprints that way, it'll work fine....
what's the resolution of the original file? the only reason to get the original is if you want to blow those pictures up to a much larger size than the standard 4x6 or 5x7
you'll need the original for that otherwise the quality will suffer if you reprint from what you have...
feel free to fm if you have questions about this, i work with graphics design so i do know about this.

I would just pay the $500 if you really want them. It's always safer to have back up images.

I agree. A friend of mine's brother had to re-do his album ten years later because it was ruined in a flood or something. It is definitely worth the money for the backup. Better to be safe.

Re: photo question...
I would spend the $500 and then go to a Kodak picture maker and make as many prints as you want, whenever you want!!
