Photo question

So I really don't want to be pulled out of our reception and miss cocktail hour just to take photos, we decided to take family pictures after our ceremony because we have 3 hours in between, and our bp photos won't be too far or take too long. We were thinking of sending a letter along with the invitation to those family members that we want included in the pictures, what do you ladies think? Is this appropriate? Will it ensure that people will stay and not run out after the ceremony? ugh, I think I'm micromanaging!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!

I think that is a great idea. I agree with you a 100% with not wanting to miss the Cocktail hour bc it is in my opinion the best part of any wedding!

How about at the RD you tell those relatives that you want to take pictures with them before the reception?

I totally agree its a great idea to let them know in advance. This way you can give your photog a list of people you want pictures with and you can rest easy that they'll stick around for it. Just think, the people you want in those pictures most likely want to be in them just as bad... and for those who you tell and they still don't stay - that's really their loss and kind of rude.

I think its a great idea! Let them know before hand at the RD if they are invited, or call them personally. That goes along way! We are so not missing our cocktail hour for pictures! We will be doing them before hand and told they family members who we thought would want to be included to join! They are thrilled!
