20 mins? that really isn't alot of time at all, let the photographer talk to him and explain that...I mean it takes 20 mins to take pics with just both your families, gathering them together and all that. Are you getting married at the RH? if not how long is the gap between ceremony and CH

wow...yeah thats rough i agree. I understand not wanting to miss the CH but there are so many pictures to take and not enough time. I know we are doing the pics before the ceremony because we both refuse to miss the cocktail hour. I agree....have him talk to the photographer so they can explain what would happen.

i told my FH that i dont have a problem taking pics during the cocktail hour..but i refuse to pose for pictures..i want candid pics the whole time..maybe ill pose for 4 or 5 pics..but if they pise me it better look like i wasnt posed..i dont want to look back and remember my wedding like..'hey remember that time when that guy said 1 2 3 cheese..and the other part of the day when i stood there and smiled for 15 minutes with grandmothers and sisters'..

sorry not for me

i want to look at my pictures and say..oh i remember cutting the cake..and dancing with you and walking down the isle..

I agree, not a fan of too many traditional pics, thats why i went the photojournalistic way...We do want some with our families and of course bp and thats it, the rest i told her do what you want, no must take pics...if you do photojournalism cant really say hey can you recreate this spontaneous moment that happened at another wedding bc then youre posing for it and makes no sense, not photojournalistic then lol

Re: photo stress!!!

Luckily,
We are having 2 photographers, so my solo and family shots will be before the wedding and same w/ his. We are doing group family shots during salad. I am sooo frustrated!! Luckily, I still have a year to try to persuade him. I just don't want to piss him off b/c then that will reflect in the pics. My ceremony is at 5:30 @ the RH. Cocktail hour is @ 6. Maybe I'll move up the ceremony to 5:15 or so to add a little time. We do not have a Bridal Party, just MOH, best man, FG and ring bearer so that might save time too.

I agree 110%...wow I thought I was the only wacko... I love pics...but not 'tilt your head...a little more....move your elbow forward...' BLAH...that would KILL me!!!!! There will be some posed shots I'm sure...But I know my photographers personally and they know my style...

One of my photographers is a photojournalist. The other is a fine arts photographer, so I'll have a little of both.
