What time does your ceremony start? And what time cocktail hour? Are you having the ceremony at the reception site?

Yes. My ceremony is at 5:30. Cocktail hour is at 6pm. It's at the RH. Maybe I should push the ceremony up to 5:15, so I can have 40 minutes to take photos.

You can probably have the waiters bring you food from the cocktail hour to eat inbetween photos.
Maybe also remind him of these things:
1. You don't need that much time to eat cocktail hour food. You can have 40 minutes for pics and 20 to eat.
2. The pictures will last FOREVER and will be the memories of your wedding, while the cocktail hour food will be gone after a few hours!
Good luck!

Take as many separate pics as you can (pics with family and bridal party) before the ceremony.

Re: photo stress- please help
I am having the same problem with FH. We decided that we won't see each other like he wants before hand but we are going to take as many pictures as possible before hand. Me with the girls and my parents, him with the guys and his parents. Then at the CH we will quickly take the whole Bridal Party pictures and pictures with the parents and let them go to the CH. We will then take a few pictures and then go to the CH. I think we are going to ask the RH if we can add 15 to the CH so we have a few minutes to see it. Then since FH isn't a big salad eater we will skip the salad course of the dinner and go take the rest of our pictures. I am hoping this will work out. We get married once so I want as many pictures as possible.

i think if you're going to be spending all that money on photos, you better have something nice to show for it. talk to your photographer and see what they suggest. maybe they'll think of something creative.

Tell him he's being childish. You can't be in 2 places at once, and you can't rush your photographer's work, or your pictures will suck. You need more time for pictures. You could take it out of your reception.

That is kinda tight with the times. You should see if you can push it up a bit. But the only problem is that your RH may not let you do that b/c then all your guests don't have anywhere to go in between. I would get the family pics before-hand and then you an FH pics during the fist 20 mins or so of the CH.

we took pics for over an hour and a half...we def could not do it in 20 mins! even if you do family and bp pics before, you are still going to need/want pics of you AND fh with family and bp and that alone will take 20 mins or more! and the most important pics of are you and fh alone...i would set up a meeting with your photographer and then you and fh could talk with them about options. maybe then your fh will realize pics in 20 mins wont cut it.

You want as much time as possible with the photog. You will both regret it if you don't get as many photos as you can.

I spoke to the photographer. He said he would handle it. Since it's just us, no BP he is going to do 30min.at the beginning of cocktail hour, grab us at the end of cocktail hour before we are introduced, and do family photos during salad.

I agree as well. When does he expect you to take pictures? Sorry but there is no way that pics can be done in 20 min. Its at LEAST an hour and a half of taking pics and that pushing it. So if you don't want to miss CH AND part of your reception, then you'd better talk him into doing the pics before theh ceremony.
