Photobooth

Photobooth

I'm not sure when it is best to have the photobooth. We chose the 4 hour booth instead of having it for the entire wedding and its up to us when we want it there. The company we are renting from said that its best to have it during the reception but I dont want it being set up while the guests are walking actoss the lobby to the main ballroom. I also like the idea of having everyone in the ballroom for the last hour of the wedding. Do you think during the cocktail hour and most of the reception is good or should I take the photobooth companys adv and have it the 4 hours everyone is in the ballroom?

Im thinking of having a photo both, but probably for the cocktail party, I want everyone up dancing during the reception!

I think the cocktail hour is the best time to have the photobooth up and operating. That way you can have people up and dancing at the reception.

I responded on the 08 board also, but just wanted to say to be very careful who you book for a photobooth. . . . preferably go somewhere where you could physically go and LOOK at what you are booking.

DH and I booked one online and once we found out what we were actually getting had to cancel. It would have been more of an eyesore than fun. . . and just read the contract carefully!!! We had a clause in ours that actually stated if they couldn't find an attendant, we would have to run it ourselves!!!! We had booked it because it had the best price we could find - but I guess that you get what you pay for!

Thats crazy!!!! I have in my contract that I have an on-site photobooth specialist to oversee the pictures and make sure people put 1/2 the pictures in our guestbook/photo album. My friend used the NYC photobooth company (they are a LIWedding vendor) and she loved them so I'm using them as well. Still up in teh air on having the booth available for the CH or during the whole reception

Re: Photobooth

My photographer has a different twist on the whole photobooth idea where he has another photographer set up a light and background instead of a whole eyesore booth thing and the idea is for that other photographer to get the guests to be all crazy fun in front of his camera. During a reception kind'of makes sense because they're drinking more (the guests not the photographers!!!)

What do you think of that idea?

Re: Photobooth

i have a photobooth for the entire duration of the reception.... including the cocktail hour and all. It's nice for people who don't dance or older people who cant dance to be able to have something to get out of their seats to do. I know everyone always wants to have everyone up and dancing... but there are people who dont dance for whatever reason and they end up just sitting there which can get kinda boring.

Who did you book your photobooth with?
if anyone needs a booth... I booked with Partybooths.com and not only a great price but it came with a lot of extras that photobooth packages from the DJ didn't offer or have.

mine was 1500 for the 6-9 person booth. it's just a plain black booth.. no insane looking pics or flashy anything on it. I have it for a half hour longer than my entire party... so that's 6 hours (my cocltail hour and an hour and a half). Also it has the attendant that helps them put the pics in the guest book. They can take unlimited pics... it says our names and date or whatever you want it to say on it. i think it's a sheet with 3 or 4 pics on each side then in the middle is the wording. On the backside there's a wedsite and password so everyone can go online and view all the pics from the event... and i get it all on a cd as well.
