i love the idea of the photobooth, but FH is kind of unsure ... so here are some questions we have
-- who did you rent it from and how much did you pay? -- did you have a prop table so people can get 'dressed up' and take pictures? -- were people waiting in line for long periods of time rather than dancing and eating? -- did it take up a lot of room in the venue? -- did you think it was worth the price?
thanks everyone!

Re: photobooth questions
I'm renting mine from Partybooths, I think it was $1295 for the bigger booth for 3 hours? I didn't opt for the scrapbook option because I want to DIY that part. And I do want to have a prop table.
Other than that, I can't really answer your questions. I haven't had a walkthrough yet to see where it will be set up or how much room it will take up. From previous people that I heard though, there's not crazy lines or anything since people will be drinking and dancing and schmoozing along with taking some pictures. HTH!

Re: photobooth questions
we got ours from party booths
it was 1300 i think lol..for 4 hrs..the whole reception
we didnt do the props but only cause im deathly afraid of clowns and it reminded me of clowns
i know strange..i will wait untill ur done laughing
the line never got too long..sometimes u would have 2 -3 people in front of you but no huge line..
it never stopped people from dancing..and when dinner was served noone went in...at least i dont think so lol
our was off to the side so it was never in the way of anything, but it was close enough that people got to it with no problem
i think it was worh the price for these 3 reasons
1.the cd i got with all the pics on it is priceless...i got to see everyoes pics and all the crazy stuff they did 2.all the people u forget to take pics with i got to in the photobooth...i dont mean pro pics.i mean friends..some i never realized i got to take a pic with but then i saw the photobooth pics and i got to keep those
3.and most important....at the end of the night 90 percent of the people invited said to us at the end that they loved the photobooth and it was the msot fun they had at a wedding and what a great idea it was..so that to me,it paid for itself

Re: photobooth questions
We got ours from shutter booth. We're paying $1400 and that's for a large booth for 4 hours, double prints, an attendant all night, our own logo printed on all the pictures and a disc with all the pictures on it. I'm getting my own scrap book and having the attendant help the guests put their pictures in it and my DOC is actually supplying us with a prop bin so we didn't get one of those either.

Re: photobooth questions
Speaking of photobooths...
Does someone heard or know a photobooth vendor with a real photographer that provides different sorts of paraphernalias? A print out is not necessary as I was thinking of sending it to them after the wedding w/ a thank you note :)

Re: photobooth questions
i rented from Partybooths.com We paid $1500 for 6 hours and the largest size booth (9 people??) with the guestbook option. also the CD rom and website come with purchase. You can take unlimited pictures and always get 2 print outs. the logo and your names are on it and an attendant all night long.
I did not do the props... but you certainly could do that. Some DOC do that for you as well.
The line wasn't too bad and people were def not missing from the party area for the booth. it's more like a run in and run out type of thing. Most people will pop in after returning from the bathroom or getting a drink etc. I still had a FULL party going on and the booth was also always occupied... but not an insane line!
It didn't take up too much room. But you do need some space for it.
It was MOST DEF worth the price! The guests LOVED it! And I still see my photobooth pics popping up on FB all the time!! I even see the photbooth pics as peoples main FB pic!!! I 100% reccomend it and partybooths.com as the company!!! SO WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No question and I never even regretted it for a second!!

You mean like they print it on a keychain or a mug?
I've def seen that before.
Check out partybooths.com
if not jsut do a google search. Then check with BBB to make sure they are an accredited business and then check for reviews before you call.

Re: photobooth questions
Did anyone feel like it took away if the photos were printed from a printer that's separate from the photobooth?
I know nycphotobooths have it so the pics print directly from the booth, but they are EXPENSIVE!!!

Re: photobooth questions
Hey Mor...Stu and I plan to do it. Through various recommendations from brides, we're using Party Booths. FH did not like the antique look and Party Booths will go better with our colors and mesh with a wedding atmosphere. I spoke with our BM and she suggested to set it up in the lobby area right outisde the main room, on the way to the rest room so people will pop in before or after.
This is one thing I really want b.c it is so much fun!

Re: photobooth questions
These are very cool, my photographer offered a photo booth option as well, wondering if I should go with it? I dont know where they could put this at my venue though.

Re: photobooth questions
i got my photobooth from
send in the clowns it was just a standard photobooth, no props you had your choice of black and white, color, or fun (where you can put different backgrounds..the kids that were there liked that one) we paid about $1000 there was some lines to take pictures, being the bride i obvi never had to wait in line, but it NEVER took away from people on the dance floor! my dance floor was still packed the entire night!
it printed 2 copies, the attendant would save the second copy and then put them in an album, i also got a cd of all the pics from the entire night
