I had a terrible experience at a photography place, which totally turned me off to the vendor. Before visiting I looooved the pictures (and still do) and think the photos are the perfect style for me. Also, it is a popular company that people rave about.
I am so confused about what to do....did I just meet with the wrong person and call and ask to meet with someone else...although my experience made me almost not want to work with them at all.
I was ready to scrap it....but looking at their online photos and reading reviews from past brides I cannot help but still want to use them
Please help!!!

Re: Photog Dilemma
Honestly, I would go with your gut feeling. I feel like if you book with them, you will always have a doubt in your mind. You need to feel 100% confident in your vendors bc this is your special day and you are paying them a lot of money.

Re: Photog Dilemma
The photographer is the vendor you are having the most face time with on your wedding day...they need to be someone you really trust and get on well with. I would not book with someone I didn't have a good feeling about. Case in point, we clicked so well with our photographers, a 1 hour consultation turned into a 2 1/2 hour chat about EVERYTHING (not just the wedding). We knew then they were right for us (of course, their pictures are absolutely gorgeous, so that helps )

Oh Yea! You need to be 100% sure. After all, the photos are all you will have left when it's all said & done. There are too many photographers out there.....keep shopping.

Re: Photog Dilemma
We had a terrible experience with a photo vendor. I originally didn't like the way he answered the phone. But instead of going with my gut feeling we went ahead with the appointment. There were a multitude of things that made us run! 1. he had no phone etiquette at all 2. he told us we were the only appointment he had that night...not only was he with a couple when we got there, there was a second couple waiting to see him. He had us waiting for about an hour! 3. the place smelt like he was smoking up! 4. it was sweltering hot in there and he only offered us water when we were getting ready to leave 5.All he did was talk about him and his wife, how they met, what she did for a living, where he went to school. and for some reason he refused to give us prices...Which was the whole reason why we were there.
So I would ABSOLUTELY go with your gut feeling. We were there for nearly 3 hours. he completely wasted our time. Your gut is usually right! You need to be happy from the moment you step in that door! He needs to make you feel comfortable with your decision. If your not...then that is not the vendor for you!.
Good Luck!

Def go with your gut, I had the same experience on Monday, we went to a place that everyone loves and we just did not like the way we were treated, it just didn't seem right.

Re: Photog Dilemma
Is the person you met with the person who would actually be there on your wedding day? If not, is there anyway you could meet with your actual photog for the day of?

Def. go with your gut. You do not need any more stress and worry, especially on your big day. There are plenty of wonderful photographers that produce stunning pictures. I would keep looking.

Re: Photog Dilemma
Thanks! I was originally going to rule them out and stick with my gut but had second thoughts last night. Thanks for putting me back on the right track! I have meetings this week with new photogs....here's hoping!
Here's hoping we all find the right photog for us and have the wonderful day we deserve!

Re: Photog Dilemma
Did you meet with the photographer you would be working with? or like a salesperson?. My photo guy is nice but the saleslady is horrid and would turn a lot of people off. If it was the photographer who was rude or whatever to you, I would look elsewhere.

Re: Photog Dilemma
go with your gut. My mom and I met with a popular photo vendor on here and totally did not like the pictures and felt the online website was a bit misleading. We didn't book with them, and I am sure many brides here love them since every damn thread about photography mentions them but I just didn't click with the guys so I ended up going w/ another company.
Life is too short to get hung up on just 1 photographer IMHO.

Re: Photog Dilemma
this happened to me w a photog i thought i wanted to work with...but the personality through me off, so i looked elsewhere
you need to be comfortable with your photog!! so if this person will b there on YOUR DAY, look somewhere else!! if they are just working in the office, then schedule a time to meet w the photogs and see what kind of vibe you get

Go with your gut...I met with a very popular vendor on here and thought the meeting was way to quick and they did not answer all my questions just told me to look at books and then gave me a price...I could have done that from home
