Any recommendations for photographers? I live and will marry on the east end of Long Island. I'm not sure if they consider travelling in their fees. Our reception hall is at East Wind and they recommend ADA but I haven't really seen anyone else use them on this site. Any recommendations will be helpful bc I want to start setting up appointments but not sure who to see aside from ADA.

My friends used ADA a few years ago for their wedding and maybe they've improved since but they were baaaad.... they had the bride lying on the GROUND at her reception in her dressing posing with her husband like laying on her. I mean they got some nice shots but most were incredibly cheesy. But like I said I haven't seen their work recently.

Thanks I am going to look into your recommendations. I agree, some of ADAs pics did look cheesy. FH barely wants to take pics as it is, nevermind ones with him laying on the ground!

Park Ave Studios - I was just there for consult. Nice photos (better than on his redesigned website, which is a mess) and has some extremely affordable packages.

Lighthouse...I actually just posted a Vendor Rave about them because I am so pleased with their customer service thus far.
Their location (Port Jeff) means you won't have to worry about travel fees.

ADA is recommended by a lot of RH's because they pay them a LOT of money to be a recommended vendor. I never got a good feeling for them, and I've only seen a small handful of positive reviews. LI is full of great vendors.
What is your price range? Everyone the girls posted above is fabulous. Here is the link to my engagement shoot with Lexi-Bella, Maria and Robert are FABULOUS! E-pix
Another favorite of mine was turn loose the art but they were above my price range. Lovemore also does great great work.
I suggest going through the brides reviews and looking at their PRO photos (not everyone posts the pro pics) and seeing what styles you like.
Then see how you mesh with the vendor. My hall recommended a vendor and we thought his work was good, but when we met him we did not like him and didn't want to work with him on our day.
As far as travel fees go, most photog shouldn't charge you if they're from LI or NY. I'm even further out east then you at Giorgio's but I'm getting married in Greenport and not one asked to charge a fee. Now transportation, hair and make up is another story!!!
