Ok ladies, what are you getting in your photog package? Are you getting the albums or making them yourself? I'm meeting with photogs this weekend and am trying to decide on what I absolutely want in my package. TIA!

Re: Photog Packages
The quality is different if you have them make it. I was going to make my parent albums but my father insisted on getting them fromthe photographer because of the quality. I am having my photographer make my albums and a few prints and then the rest of the prints I make.

Re: Photog Packages
With Patken Photographer, you custome make the packages, basically. I mean they eveything they think you want, but you can add to it, and they'll just raise the price.
My BIG piece of advice is to MAKE them throw in some things for free. As you all know, photographers are very pricey. So make them throw in something like - 5x7's of all people inthe BP! And maybe instead of a 16x20 portrait, ask them for a 20x20 portrait, extra wallats, extra extra extra! My parents paid for the whole wedding, so they basically picked the highest paid package, and we got so much stuff, but Patken also threw in alot.
As far as albums. SOHO is a great album. Its like a story book album. . . . It has it's own set fee though.
Good luck!

Re: Photog Packages
Also, most photoghraphers give you one free engagement shoot session. I know I got a small pakcage w/ them. 3 8x10's, 20 wallats, 4 5x7's, and I even got the proofs on a cd for the engagement shoot. Most photographers, if they give you a free engagement portrait, they only give you 1 (which is insane!).

Re: Photog Packages
I'm just getting my photos on DVD. I may add on one album for us, but I'm making the parent albums and BP prints myself.

Re: Photog Packages
We want an album from the photographer, but we don't want to pay for it / plan it until we see our proofs... So we are asking the photographers we meet with if we can add on an album later for the same price as it would be if it were included in the package.
Usually, the album is an a la carte option, so it hasn't been a problem.

Re: Photog Packages
Thanks for all of the feedback. Now I have another question. For those of you getting your pics on CD or DVD, why are you paying the photog to print the pics and not doing it yourself? I mean, I want certain pics to be printed by them because of the quality, but I'm just curious.
