when you meet the right photographer, you will know.
In the meantime, I can honestly say that our wedding photographer was everything we had hoped for and MORE! he exceeded our expectations. he's a LIW vendor and I highly recommend him - Dan Wagner.

I started looking at everyone's pictures on here and I seemed to always like certain pictures and the photographer was always Duet. I met with them and booked them on the spot. Not only is their work amazing, they are very affordable!!!

just make appointments with different vendors and look at there styles...i went with Patken, they were my first official meeting ( i saw ADA at a show) and i liked Patkens work and my best friend had just used them so i saw how he worked with the bride and at the wedding...so that sold me!

The photographer will probably be the toughest thing to book. IMO That's how it has been for us. I have go to see Patken, Duet, Velvet, almost went to Imagine (but then I received their pricing $$$$$$$$$$) now I will go to fs photo, ADA and Leli (just receive great FM on Leli). Good luck!!!

I love photography... Some photographers just 'take pictures'. Others you get a 'feeling' when you see the pics, which I love. Another thing both DH and I were looking for was someone who would make us feel comfortable in front of the camera. We're both very uncomfortable and get that stiff smile. When we met with our Photographers we knew it HAD TO BE THEM! They're our age, fun and I just can't explain it...they really kept us laughing and smiling the entire day. It was GREAT! It's a family owned and operated business that the son's have now taken over and is soaring. If you would like more information feel free to FM me.
my thing was a budget--we couldn't afford much. so we went with a discounted photographer at a wedding center. I looked at their work as well as a GF of mine used them...so while I would have loved to go with a studio like Duet or Verdi, etc., etc., we just couldn't spend that much on it since our budget is just so tiiiiiiiiiight.

I used a photographer who is not a LIW vendor. Lady Kat Photography...she was so awesome and does photojournalistic and traditional posed.
Sorry I don't have digital proofs but you can check out her website. She worked with an assistant and a lighting person and actually checked out the place I was having my pictures taken before the wedding to make sure she was set up for it lighting wise and to get ideas for good shots. It was my aunt's house.
She also did a great engagement shoot for us and spent hours with us. By the time the wedding came, we were very comfortable in front of the camera and knew how to pose. She was unobtrusive and got some shots I never even knew she took.
This was not that expensive. We got 3 albums, the engagement shoot, 11X14, two 8X10s and 12 wallets..I'm not going to quote the price because it was a while ago, but at the time it was very reasonable.
I loved working with her and I can honestly say that after seeing 10 photographers, I am glad that we chose her.Lady Kat

Make sure you take your time......and the important thing is to feel comfortable with your photographer. We loved ours and he was an absolute pleasure to have around on the day. We had a main photographer and then another one who did photojournalism. Our proofs came out fantastic...I posted some on BHB...FM if you want details We used Leli photography

Photography is huge for me , its the one thing i would love to spend a lot on I won a wedding through WALK FM so i got certain vendors through them, which i must say im a little nervous about What i have seen so far i like, but im thinking of hiring a backup just in case I think in order to choose your photographer you have to know what you are looking for and the price range available to you, im sure you will have no problem Good luck

I'm using Fine Art. There pictures are very different. Do a search, a few girls on here wrote reviews about them.
