I need some input on photographer prices. My FH and I went to 2 photographers, one of which we really loved and are thinking about booking (Cassarino Studios). We want a digital photo album, but we aren't sure what a fair price is. We got a package quote of $3,595 plus tax from Cassarino. We're not getting video, so we're saving $$$ there. How many more and which other vendors are worth checking out??? HELP!!!
i second 12th night. Although and Ill give you a little heads up Ive seen alot of past brides regretting not getting a video done and they wish they could go back and get one. Just a heads up

Re: Photographer $$$
I have heard good things about Cassarino BUT it's always a good idea to see other vendors. Check out 12th Night and Camelot Studios. If you are willing to spend a little extra Franklin Square and Sherwood Triart are excellent.
I'm not going with a video either. FH and I are paying for the entire wedding so I need to cut where we can. A lot of my friends that have already got married never watch their videos. I know I'm the type to watch it once and then it will collect dust on a shelf.

Re: Photographer $$$
what are you getting in that package? Depending on what it includes, that's about where a lot of the packages I saw were (but many of them included a lot). This stuff is all so expensive!
and I second Dan Wagner, and would also recommend Thomas Paul Photography.

The package includes:
- One 10x13 digital lflush album with 100 pictures - One 16x20 portrait - Two 11x14 portraits - Six 8x10 Portraits - 125 wallet size photos with thank you cards - all proofs (500 I think) in 4x6 photos AND a CD with all the proofs on it...so I can make multiple copies. The guy said the CD could be burned to make extra copies, which I thought was cool that he was being honest about it.
We both fell in love with the digital albums they showed us. Their work is soooo nice! Is the price reasonable though?

wow, 100 pictures in a digital album? Those are darn expensive. In terms of what I looked at, that sounds pretty good to me. I'd take it, personally... you might be able to find cheaper, but I don't know if you would get that much... but then I didn't really look at any of hte bigger studios because none of their work really fit my tastes. (big studios can be a big cheaper)
I wouldn't go with the first person you meet with, but in terms of price that's not too bad, in my opinion.

Check out Silverfox too. . . .they have all their items 'a la carte'. Even their 'packages' can be changed though. So if you get a 'package' that has parent albums in it, but you don't want parent albums, you can take that dollar amount and either deduct it from the final price or put it towards 'upgrades' (like extra pics in your album) They also give you all your proofs and a high resolution CD.
BTW . . . I also have heard of girls not getting video's and then regretting it later on. Even if you can get just the ceremony and not the reception, it might be worth it in the long run.

I was also pleased with ADA after meeting with them. We are working with Big John, and he was very accomodating as far as changing out parts of 'packages' to customize to what we wanted. We are also waiting on parent albums and making them later. Good Luck!

We are hoping to have someone in our family tape the church part and some of the reception.

We went to Cassarino also and I think that prices are way too high. Once I saw how much they wanted for digital I thought all places would be that high and we wouldn' tbe able to get digital album. But then we checked out a few more places and found much better pricing for digital photography we ended up going with Ariana Studios....give them a visit their digital ablums are beautiful and at a fair price.
