SO i have been looking for a photographer for too long now. THey all seem to be so expensive and when you go cheaper it shows.
I checked out Aldo in Bklyn and Wedding group in Queens. Both seem nice...does anyone have any ideas Thanks liz

I was going with a bigger agency however wasn't impressed with Epics or service, they couldn't tell me who I would have, the owner did epics and wasn't able to tell me who would actually shoot the day of. I did not like that, I felt it was misleading....I chose to go with a lady named Joanne Rempe and she is awesome! She did my brother's wedding last month and she just did my epics....she loves what she does and really takes time and pays attention to details. She has a website if you Google her...she is worth the money and is reasonable.

i used roberto falck. he is amazing. as anglbyme said, he is a small shop and he work is incredible. i was originally also gonna go with someone who is HUGE on the boards, but i felt he was je r king me around somewhat and had a bad feeling. sooooooo glad i looked at one more person. roberto is so nice and really just loves what he does. he is also more pricey than anyone else i saw, but sooooo worth it. i just got my digital proofs today and there are 1400 of them!! all beautiful. you can also google him.

I am using ADA, $1200 for the day. I will choose my album later for $1k+. My budget was $3k. For more info. FM me. I did a lot of research.

What is your budget, if you don't mind me asking? Maybe this way someone can recommend a studio within that price range. I am using Brett M atthews and my package is about $5k.

Okay so maybe I should have given more information to begin with. I live in westchester and that is where my wedding will be. But i will be leaving from my mom's in bklyn. I looked at photographers in westchester and bklyn and they were all around 4000-5000, and then about 2000 for video. I want to try to stay closer to 5000-6000 i dont want to get up into 7000. I'm not sure if this is not reasonable. Does anyone know anyone who used Aldo in bklyn i seem to like them the best right nowbut I just dont know anyone who can vouch for them?? Thanks so much though for all the replies already. My friend recommended this site and its really great I love it.

that's a pretty generous budget....
My dream photographer would have been imagine studios in nassau.... but they're about $6k for pix and video... and they won't show up without both a pix AND video contract.
I booked mark kauffman (angelica studios). he works in both port jeff and NYC. He's a bit flexible for picture budget, but will still run about 4k for about 800 proofs and an album.... this is w/o video.... but his studio's work is really good.
