Re: Photographer???
I got quotes ranging from $5,500 - $10,000. it's really whoever you like and click with. One great question is...If my photographer gets sick the day of my wedding, what is the back up plan? Also, Is my everything done in house or do you outsource my album? You don't wnat them to outsource your album because there is always the chance they can lose it!

Re: Photographer???
The most important thing is to make sure you have all the rights to your proofs. You don't want to have to worry about paying for each additional copy of a photo that you make - you want the rights to all proofs, which is what MOST, but not all, photographers do now.

Re: Photographer???
Make sure you get the rights to your photos. This is key so you can make printswithout having to go through them afterwards. Number of hours Number of photogs Number of proofs Number and size of enlargements Size of album (measurement and number of pics) Size of parent albums (measurement and number of pics) Thank yous Cost of extra prints Cost of overtime Cost of extra locations Proofs on hard copy and/or disc? Proofs online? The total charge for services w/ tax Payment plan - what is do when

Re: Photographer???
Hi! Real Simple has a great list of questions to ask vendors.
I would ask if you will have full digital rights to the pictures. Without watermarks. I think this one is important because a lot of photographers add their watermark to the image then when you go to print it has a huge company logo on it. If you're not going with a small one person team make sure the photographer you are meeting with is the one you get. What are the rates for additional hours. The network of photographer backups in case they cannot make it for whatever reason What kind of medium will they be using? Digital? Film? Black and white? Color?
I think it's really important to ask to see a wedding from start to finish.
Rates really depend on what you are looking for. Time. Online album? Prints? Albums? One photographer? 2 Photographers? 1 photographer or 1 associate photographer?
And most important of all you & FI have to be comfortable with this person! Good Luck!
