Photographer and rehearsal dinner

All of your postings are so helpful!! I have a couple questions-- Can anyone recommend a place to have a rehearsal dinner in Suffolk County? I prefer something close to Sayville (I`m getting married at Lands End), but I`m open for any suggestions. Have any of you heard of Verdi photography? They`re located in Patchogue. Thanks!

Congratulations! We got married at the Port Jeff Country Club on 9/2/01. Our photographers were from Mark Kauffman Studios. We are still blown away every time we look at our proofs. Tony and Lynn were incredible - they knew exactly what we were looking for and captured it right on the mark! They were worth every penny we spent. Our proofs were ready by the time we got back from our honeymoon. The hardest part for us now is choosing what to put in our album. As far as the rehearsal dinner went - we had ours at The Printers Devil in Port Jeff. The food is fabulous - our guests had a choice of 3 entrees and the staff could not have been more helpful. They have a great private room which was perfect for our group of 35. Most of all their prices are VERY reasonable and you get so much more than you pay for. We did B&W and color. The thing we liked best was the candid shots. We scanned a few pictures onto a website. I looked at Fine Arts, VIP, Ray O'Connor, and a few others. We chose Mark Kauffman- Lynn and Roy will be our photographers. I just feel in love with his style, the way he does business and his overall studio. I was in the studio while he was interacting with other brides. I thought he was very professional. He listened to what I really wanted and helped me to chose photographers that would match my vision of my wedding day. I have seen some of Verdi's work but did not speak with him so I cannot comment. His work is very nice but he is also very expensive. What type of photography budget do you have? Mark and Verdi are in the $4K + area. Although I know that with Mark you can pay for just the photography, no albums or englarements until after the wedding. We decided to work out everything up front.
