I'll be home this weekend and have some photographer appointments scheduled. So my question to you is what are some of the things you asked photographers when you met with them. TIA!!

Re: Photographer appointments
My number one question was always whether we had the right to reprint. The photographer my parents used for my brother's Bar Mitzvah went under before we could get anything printed. All we have are proofs! I also think most studios charge to much for standard reprints. I want them to design my album, but I can find a cheaper place to give me a 5x7. Also: How long have they been a photographer? Is all their experience in wedding photography? Who retouches the photos (the photographer or a lab tech)? What format do they shoot in (raw, jpeg, etc.). RAW is usually better, but it takes up more memory. Are they staying until the end? (hate the BS about the last hour being nothing to shoot, the last hour is when everyone lets loose and really has fun)
After all that, the most important thing for me was personality. You don't hang out with the florist, but you spend a lot of time with this person on such an important day, I didn't want to spend it with a b*tch

Well said! Always make sure that they will give you all your proofs to keep.

Re: Photographer appointments
I would also ask about payment structure - how much for deposit and how many payments you need to make and when.

Re: Photographer appointments
If the pictures were going to be owned by us - NO watermarks on the bottom, day of timeline - really important - ask to see if they have done any weddings at your venue or something similiar - for us even though Lighthouse hasn't been to Lawrence CC, they still have done other County Club weddings and I wanted to get the feel of how he photographed the same sort of space. HTH and Good luck!!
