Photographer dilemma

Photographer dilemma

Hi all

I'm looking at photographers right now and am a bit baffled, hoping someone can offer me some advice...

What we want: about 8 hrs of photography, no albums, no video, just pics on a disc.

I have a friend who's a photographer who offered us $2600 for just that (2 photographers).

Is that too much?

Firstly, we have about 150 people, do we need 2 photographers?

Secondly, I found other photographers who are much cheaper, like The Pros (anyone heard of them? Recommend?) and Aaron Almendral photography, and Bella Pictures...Photojournalists are cheaper it seems.

I know not all photographers are created equal, but it just seems crazy to pay almost $3,000 for pictures...

Any advice, recommendations for good budget friendly photographers, would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

That is WAYYY too much just for that.

Check out Lighthouse Photography if all you are looking for are the photographers and images on a disc. I can FM you the exact price if you'd like but it's literally a fraction of what you just posted.

HTH!!

I think that's the first time I ever heard that!

Personally, photography is very important to me. Besides DH, photos are the only thing you're going to have to look back on of your big day! We had 186 people and I was glad we had 2 photogs! We booked with Duet- they mix photojournalistic photos with traditional photos. I do think that $2600 is pricey for a freelance photographer. But Duet's prices are about on par with this, maybe a little less. No prints, 2 photogs, for 10.5 hours was about $2300 I believe. HTH!

$2600 sounds a bit much just for that... We have about 225 people and we are only using one photographer and a videographer. I can reccomend a friend for you if you would like to contact her.. shes wonderful and is an amazing photographer FM me if you want her information

I think its too much unless you LOVE their work. We were looking for basically the same thing + engagement shots and it will be way less than that. We decided to go with Aaron Almendral. I love everything I've seen from him so far, hes a great guy, and very easy to work with. Hopefully our engagement shots will be coming up soon, so I'll let you know how that goes if youre still considering him.

Oh, and we're having 125 guests and decided 1 photographer would be enough.

My photographer is charging us $1200.00 for photos on a disc. He is giving us the disc at the end of our party & time is not an issue. He did my cousin's wedding & he is a love to work with & his photoa are awesome!
