photographer going rates

photographer going rates

hi all, instead of asking a bunch of photographers for pricing info and what not, what is the going rate out there? is it possible to get a good one for under $1500?

That's a tight budget but its do able. I am paying around that for a basic package with ADA. Meaning no albums, only edited photos, high res with rights. Also try Capture the Moment, they had good rates as well.

Definitely do your research before you even talk to any of them. A lot of them have an 'investment' section in their website that say a starting point or actual package costs. I fell in LOVE with a photographer's work from a friend's wedding and was like OMG I NEED HER! But then I went to her website and learned her packages START at $8000! Eight G's for pictures?! Oy.

I'm almost positive for 1 photographer and assistant is 2000 with timexposures. I booked him but I got two photographers so it was more.
Doesn't include albums but u have rights to photos and they are with u all day no hour limit

We're paying around that for our photographer, but it doesn't include any albums or engagement shoot. We had a family member that did our engagement shoot and we're going to do the albums online(there's so many websites out there now) We are using Thomas Paul

If I remember correctly a basic package (no albums) with Celestial Photo and Paul Kloc Photo were in that range. I met with both of them, very different but equally nice people and work..

Look into Paul Kloc. We booked with him! Google his name for the website

You can try 456weddings.com Their prices are low. But you don't want to sacrifice your pictures. If you can make cuts in other places $500 can make a difference in the quality of a good photographer.

The cheaper average I found was $2k. But if you tell them you're looking for $1500 they should be willing to negotiate, you just wouldn't be getting the big wedding albums. I'm using Red Sweatshirt but there's a good search on theknot.com. If I remember correctly you can search by price range.

I booked with capture the moment. they have more expensive packages, but definitely have lower ones that could work with your budget. AND they're amazing!! Check out their website!

I agree with most of the ladies here. I feel like most of the photographers we met with had prices starting around 2k.

Check out Complete Wedding Packages in East Meadow. Amanda is awesome! I don't know what they charge for just photography since we did an all-inclusive package, but they are super reasonable.
