I always always recommend Visual Concepts. I sware I think they are the best photographers on Long Island. (I guess I'm a little biased though!) you should definitely check them out.
I also like Christina Bohn, and she is less expensive than the other I menitoned.

Do you have a budget? What are you looking for - photojournalist or more of the traditional?
Obviously, I'd recm'd my photographer, she's photojournalistic, and PHENOMINAL - brings a tear to my eye every single time I see her work.
By the way - I just looked at your photo in your profile, and I nearly fell off my chair at work laughing hysterically!
THOSE ARE THE BEST HALLOWEEN (hope it was halloween - otherwise, yes, you are both certifiable) COSTUMES I'VE EVER SEEN!
Wait 'til you guys see THIS years costume!!! (Yes, it was halloween!!) hehehe

I always recommend my photographer, Spelman Studios.
I've seen work by Patken, Creative Compositions, and Verdi in the flesh and all are very good as well.

We are using The Velvet Studio in huntington. We just got our engagement pics done and they came out amazing!!! I posted them on the '06 board a few days ago... check there or let me know if you want to bump that post for you. The website is www.thevelvetstudio.com and his name is Bob.
we used bernadette from BTC photography and she was absolutely awesome. i had my proofs back in 3 weeks and the next was better than the last..she has a great eye.
