I need help. I'm looking for a photographer that also does video, and in the $5K range. I've already been to Patken and while they do excellent work, I didnt think they gave you as much as some others are getting.
Can anyone give me an idea of places, prices, and what they're package includes?
Thanks!

Re: Photographer help!!!!
I used Video Express Productions in East meadow. His video is AMAZING and his photos were as good as anyone else I had seen. if you're realyl into ALL photojournalistic, he's probably not for you. he's more of a mix between traidtional and candid.
I got a GREAT photo package (our album, 2 parent albums, and lots of 5x7's a few 8 x10's, and all the proofs PLUS full video coverage (edited and unedited DVD copies) for $3500.00. iam February (off-season wedding) so he defintieyl worked with us... I wouldn't have been able to afford video otherwise.... he is willing to work with you,

Re: Photographer help!!!!
I used Wedding Group One for my 'Western' wedding this past Saturday. They were awesome... so patient and willing to listen! They have a special package that they market during 'The Great Bridal Expo' (the big one in Times Square) that is $1.2k for photo, 3K for video, which comes to roughly under 5k after tax, srvc charge, etc. They give out this sampler of their photos, which includes a coupon for a choice of prints or $300 towards your package. Nothing seems to be written in stone there with the ala carte stuff, so you might be able to negotiate some small items (a reprint, some TY cards, etc). WGO has a site, just google them.
We also used Benny Liu for our Chinese Banquet, who freelances and did primarily journalistic shots, and took amazing photos. His rate might vary, but if you're budget conscious, you can always hire a frelance photog. Below is one of his pix so you get an idea. FM me if you want his info.
Definately Velvet for quality and affordability. Bob is so COOL

Re: Photographer help!!!!
Check out Leli and Dan Wagner. Gary Leli is totally accommodating and is willing to add whatever you need in your price range. Dan Wagner is very sweet and his packages are reasonable, his rates are on his webpage. Also, Franklin Square Photographers.
