Okay, so FH have made a list of photographers we would like to meet..
Capture the Moment, Jaylim, Lighthouse, Fade to Black, F*i*n*e*A*r*t, and Michael O'Neill
Any opinions on these? Good or bad (be honest!) we'd really like to narrow down this list.. I think 6 is a lot lol. I'm also open to other photog's that you think are of the same style as these listed. Our budget is also $3500, and are hoping to include albums in that budget. Am I asking too much from these companies? Are they out of my league? I'm only looking for photo, no video.
Thanks!
ETA: it's prob a bad sign that one of them is being blocked out by this website right? Lol

Re: Photographer help
We used Lighthouse and could not have been happier. We had Florio and Joe with us and they were amazing. Very patient with everyone involved (especially my in laws who were not the easiest to deal with that day) and incredibly creative and sweet. I cannot say enough good things about them and their work. I have samples in my albums if you want to take a look!

Re: Photographer help
We are booked with Lighthouse and cannot wait to work with Florio for both our engagement shoot and on our wedding day. Both FH and I knew as soon as we left our meeting with him that we would be booking with them. Florio was so nice and made us feel so comfortable. You could tell he was passionate about what he does and just wants to make your wedding day special. Lighthouse is definitely not our of your league when it comes to budget. We are doing video with them as well so we spent a little more than we had wanted but their quality of work is so worth it to me. Photography and videography is probably the most important thing to me since that's what you will have to remember your day so I was willing to spend a little extra. Definitely check out Lighthouse!

Have you looked into North Island? My cousin is gonna meet with them next wk and they have some packages that fit your budget. From what I've seen, they do really great work.

Love JayLim! Depending on what else you want $3500 might be a little tight with them with an album. Do you want an engagement shoot? 2 photographers?

Their work is amazing! He showed us about 10 different albums (of all styles and sizes) and they were all great! Really gave us a good idea of the style we wanted.

Re: Photographer help
I forgot to add that you can also go to an outside company to get your albums, if you want to go with one of the pricer photographers. A friend of mine went to the album company that her photog uses directly, and paid a couple hundred dollars less than if she went through him. She was already paying him close to 7000, and that didn't include an album! Kind of insane if you ask me.

Yeah, we are looking for an engagement shoot and 2 photographers.. We're still gonna meet with them just to see what they have to offer.. budget is tight since I convinced FH to spend almost 5K more than we originally budgeted for our venue.. Oops!
I LOVE Fade to Black and I think he could definitely work in your budget, especially if that's only for photography. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment with Gil. At the very least, he's one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.

They might be a few hundred over your budget after tax, but they will negotiate some.

Michael O'Neill does amazing work. My sister had him years ago. Not sure if he fits within your budget though.

Yeah, his website says that packages including albums start at around 3K, but I know I wouldn't want a basic package. He was my parents photographer 27 years ago so maybe he'll be feeling generous lol! We're definitely gonna meet with him, I love his work!

Re: Photographer help
We went with fade to black! We actually booked on the spot. Gil is amazing! We didn't do an engagement shoot because we already had one so I can't give you actual facts lol but from the work that we saw and his pricing, we fell in love. It was also important for us to find someone that we're comfortable with. FH went to make a payment recently and stayed there for 30 mind talking to Gil about wedding stuff and planning. We couldn't be happier. I think our package was 32-3500 for photo (we also did video) and it included an album and 2 photographers and a few other things. He also threw in all these extras when we went for our first payment.
Good luck!

Lighthouse is one of our finalists. Love their work. We have narrowed it down to Lighthouse and S27.

I think it might be pushing it with JayLim unless you go with the basic package. I am paying 6000 for him and this is before Jay started charging additional money to have his as your photographer.

I heard that Jaylim and Fade to Black were great! I really liked the photos from Fade to Black, we just couldn't get them to fit in our budget.

Exactly this. Florio wasn't in the studio when we had our appointment, so we met with Monica and were just amazed. Florio is available for our wedding, so he'll be our photographer. I'm really looking forward to meeting him since I've heard such great things! One of the nicest things about Lighthouse is that their base package includes an album and you can totally customize the album to your taste. We also met with Jaylim, and a package with album came to about your price range. They were willing to throw a few things in, like an upgraded album cover, a few extra hours... We were excited about them when we left the meeting but then went to meet with Lighthouse and loved them. Lighthouse felt more professional to me and so I felt like I could trust them more. We were going to meet with Michael O'Neill but decided not to because we didn't want to meet with a lot of photographers and heard he is pretty pricey.
All three have beautiful and artistic photos, so I don't think there is a wrong choice!

Re: Photographer help
Capture the Moment!!! We are using them for photo AND video and paying $4150 which is only a little above your budget and that's with video too, albums included - 3 parents albums too because FH's parents are divorced. Check them out!!
