How do I know it I am getting a good price? Do I negotiate? Do I ask for a deal if I do video and Photography together? how does payment get arranged? Do I pay now? When I get the pics? do I leave a deposit?
TIA

well its up to you about price...look at the quality of their work, what you get for it...what a good price is for one person, its not a good price for another...So if its in your budget and you like the work and the people then thats what matters.
You could always negotiate if you want.
Again always see what they can do for you.
Well after you book, and you sign the contract you have to leave a deposit...and then they'll set up other payments. I had to put a deposit, then have installments. The albums ill pay for later, dont know when yet but probably put a deposit for that too and then pay in full after i receive

My advice to you is to shop around. Once you see a few different types of work, you will be able to get a better idea of who has a better quality, who is more the style you want and what type of deal you are getting.
As far as negotiating, everything is negotiable. In my opinion, if a company won't negotiate anything with you, move on. I loved my photographer but there was another photographer who was just as good and their price was bettter. I asked her to match it and she did ($600!). This just adds to the reason of why you should shop around.
I think you do get a break if you book both video and photo together. I'm not sure though b/c I'm using separate companies. I had to leave $1,000 deposit, with approximately 75% of the balance due on the day of the wedding and the remainder for when I get my proofs.

Know exactly what you want. Don't sign the contract until after you come home with it, do more research, then sleep on it. Ofcourse I did not do these things, I just booked them on the spot! But that's what I would do if I were you.

For my photographer, I had to leave a $750 deposit to secure my date. The day of the wedding I have to pay 1/2 of the remaining cost of my package. Then I dont pay the other half until AFTER the wedding when I pick up my completed albums! That ensures that he gets paid but I also get what I am paying for. I didnt want to pay my photographer for my whole package until I see his work and I get my completed work.
