Since this guy Mark is will to give advice, I would call to see what the correct action. The nerve of these people they are supposed to help you remember this special time in your life and then they crazy. Don't let yourself get crazy. You can take some action - find out the procedures, call the better business and find if they have any information or consumer affairs.

You see, Marie, this is a board where people help each other by giving info. Rather than accusing people of being something they're not, try to be helpful. You might find that it's worth your while. I won't respond to anymore of these accusatory emails, so feel free to stop wasting your time writing them.
Wow Lauren Im sorry to hear this working out like this. In case you haven't already done so, take a look at your contract and see what it says about payment terms. If it dosen't say the final payment must be made in cash and they accepted a credit card or check from you before you have a right to expect to make the final payment in the same form as previous payments. Definately take it up with the BBB.
I agree with Michelle on all she mentioned. Also, if you don't have a clue as to where you want the reception, there is a book called Locations. They sell it in many magazine/newspaper stores but I went to Fortunoff's when I registered and I saw that they had them there for free. Locations basically lists many of the places in the LI area-also some in Westchester, Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan and has a lot of info on each place. Like price range, maximum # of guests, type of food and many more vitals. Good luck. There is a diverse number of places being booked by people on this board so you can get a lot of feedback. Okay, maybe I missed something here. Who is the photographer in question? This sad situation is surely something no one wants to go through, or should go through. I haven't booked or even gone to look at any photographers yet -- that's the next goal along with the video.
