How long will or did your photographer take for pictures in your house/hotel/ wherever it is your getting ready?

Re: Photographer Q
Mine is only arriving an hour before the ceremony. It really depends on your package, though - if you pay to have them there from the moment you start getting ready then they will be there :)

Re: Photographer Q
Yup, depends on how early you want them to start. If they're booked for a full day then they should be there when you're getting ready

Re: Photographer Q
We are doing photos before the wedding but I wanted the photographers to capture the getting ready in hotel so they will be arriving at 8:00 am. He mentioned arriving early to scope out the hotel for good picture spots :)

Re: Photographer Q
Hmmm, I have him for 10 hrs, ceremony starts at 6:30, we are doing a first look at planting fields, so I thought he'd come to my house at 1:30 and shoot there for 1 hr? Ugghhh this is annoying me! bc when I asked, he responded it depends what you want me to shoot...

Re: Photographer Q
I believe our photog arrived at 3:00 PM for our 5:00 PM ceremony. It was about a 10 minute ride to the church. He took a bunch of candid shots while we were still running around finishing up make-up and then getting ready shots, then we did photos with the BMs and my family. We left for the church about 4:30 and had to wait outside in the partybus while the guests went into the church. It was actually one of my fave parts of the day. I was all ready to go and I wasn't nervous just yet. So I got to sit in the bus with my SIL, my MOH, and my photog and we drank champagne and spied on the guests. It was so fun!
ETA: We had our photogs for 10.5 hours. Our reception ended at 1:30 AM and the photogs left at 2:00. Most of the guests didn't clear out until about 2:00. We didn't get to our hotel (20 minutes away) until 2:45 AM.

I'd just tell him you want a decent amount of photos of you getting ready- getting make-up done, getting dressed, etc. And hopefully he can suggest what time he thinks would work best.
But if he got there at 1:30, he'd be leaving at 11:30 PM. What time is your reception over at? Did you WANT him to stay until the end? Those are some things to think about.

Re: Photographer Q
Reception ending 12:30, which I assume by 11 cut the cake, so I thought start time 1:30 is fine, what do you guys think?

Yes. That was something that was very important for us. The photographer and videographers were there until the very end as well

They came 4 and a half hours before the wedding. It depends on how long you have them for.
