Photographer Question

We just got back from seeing a photographer. FH has a question- what do most photographers use these days- digital or film? This particular photographer (Twelfth Night) uses mostly digital. FH wants to know if there are any downsides to digital?

I really liked him- but FH wasnt 'sold'. FH also wanted to know about the albums- do most photographers charge for the albums at the time you pick your package? or after?

Re: Photographer Question

Take this as you want it. My best friend is a professional photographer, and she and her professional friends are adamant that film is the way to go. They are biased but when we were looking, she convinced us that was the way to go. However, I have seen some very nice digital work done. I think both have strengths and unless you are a professional, you will be fine either way.

Thanks for responding.....What about the albums, though- since I got engaged, I've only seen albums where the pictures all look digital- not your typical photo albums, where the actual pictures are 'in' the page. All of the albums I've seen lately, look like they are printed right on the paper. Is this just the way they are done lately?

I think most are like that now. But I know that at Park Avenue Studios in Sayville they have the classic albums too... They're a vendor on here. He seemed to do great work - but i wanted the digital which was a bit too pricey for me...

I think most are done that way.

Re: Photographer Question

Just about any photographer should be able to give you a traditional photo album regardless of whether you choose digital or film.

I heard that digital prints fade faster than film prints, but I do not know how true that is.
